After a fairly long snap of cold weather, it appears to be thawing here in the northwest suburbs. That's a relative term, as it's barely above freezing. However, compared to last week's days where it struggled to get above the 0 mark, that's a drastic improvement.

As for my progress, it was a pretty ho-hum day. I got a good amount of exercise in, and hit another good day of weight loss. Stairs and uphill climbs aren't as bad as they once were, although they aren't exactly my friends. I chose not to try sleeping on the pad and bag last night, in order to ensure a decent night's sleep. We'll see about tonight.

My copy of David "AWOL" Miller's The A.T. Guide came in the mail a couple days ago. I haven't really looked at it yet, but that will change over the next few weeks. With this long weekend coming up, I'm also hoping to get some muddy hiking in, and also start looking to stock up supplies. Like all major endeavors, this one will be won or lost by a good command of logistics, part of which will be keeping us properly supplied with non perishable food stuffs.
