Another week, another result heading the wrong way. This is obviously not what I expected, but it is what it is. At least it isn't as bad as it was earlier in the week.

I could blame it on going back home to Ridge Farm, but it wasn't like I ate well on Friday, when I was still up in Schaumburg. I could also blame it on one of my favorite lunch restaurants giving me a coupon for a free appetizer every time I went there, but that is my fault, not theirs. Nobody held a gun to my head to force me to get queso dip.

The biggest reason for my continued failure is a lack of, well, plan. Simply put, I've not been putting together an actual plan for each week, as I did during the more successful portions of my previous plans. I only got through one day of getting back into it on this week, so the next few weeks will be a better indicator of my success. However, just getting my daily goals on record will help me keep focused. Unlike before, I am also logging how much I actually completed, and have added my minutes walked (and my weekly goal) to the weekly summary at the beginning of these posts.

And of course, there is the dinner problem. Over the next few weeks I'm going to be experimenting with some possible solutions. I'll elaborate more on these in the next few weeks, but whichever one is the most successful will be my dinner strategy for three months. The current contestant is the "simple dinner" idea. This is to limit my dinner choices to incredibly simple things, such as PB&J sandwiches, so I won't be able to quite so easily rationalize going out for dinner. So far it has worked every night I've scheduled it, but that was only one night.

I am confident that adding the exercise log and actually establishing a plan for "the dinner problem" will be as conducive to turning things. It would help if temperatures started getting better, but that probably won't be a big factor for a month or so. Either way, I'm looking forward to a successful spring.
